Blockchain for Sustainability & Social Impact: Help Us Map the Ecosystem!

In the past few years, we’ve seen a plethora of projects and initiatives emerge, focusing on improving sustainability and delivering positive social and environmental impact with the help of Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT).

Many of these projects bring diverse actors together to work collaboratively in tackling some of the most important challenges we face today; climate change, modern slavery, poverty, irresponsible sourcing, inequality, food waste, fraud, corruption, and much more.

For us at iPoint, it is inspiring to see the growth of this global, borderless ecosystem that shares the vision and direction of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and leverages technology innovation, and collaboration, to co-create a better future.

INATBA

In April of 2019, more than a hundred organizations co-founded the International Association of Trusted Blockchain Applications (INATBA) with the aim to promote the use of blockchain technology by developing a predictable, transparent, and trust-based global framework. iPoint is proud to be one of the founding members.

Co-chaired by our CEO Joerg Walden, the INATBA Social Impact and Sustainability Working group (SI&S-WG) has focused its efforts to identify projects and organizations that aim to create positive social and environmental impact with the help of DLT and Blockchain.

One of the focus areas for the Working Group is to understand how the SDGs and social impact goals are aligned with the use of blockchain technology across sectors, industries, and use cases. After initial research and analysis, the working group has prepared a survey to map and analyze the “Blockchain for impact” ecosystem and identify the challenges met by projects.

Survey

On behalf of INATBA, we cordially invite any representative of an organization or project that uses Blockchain/DLT to deliver positive social and/or environmental impact to participate in this survey:  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/siswg

We hope you can provide us with insights about your project(s) and help us understand challenges and opportunities you would like to see in the spotlight. Combined with preliminary research the working group has already completed, your insights will be published in a report later this year, and brought to the attention of INATBA members, regulators, policy makers, as well as the broader community.

Thank you for your support!
