SustainableUX: design vs. climate change

How can we balance design projects against a backdrop of increasing climate urgency? On February 12th, the SustainableUX: design vs. climate change conference will provide a forum for UX, front-end, and product people who want to make a positive impact – on climate-change, social equality, and inclusion. Practitioners will share their methods and philosophies that enable to make meaningful contributions to stop global warming as individuals, and an industry. In order to help designers reduce their carbon footprints, SustainableUX is an online-only event, hosted on Google Hangouts which is largely renewable-powered.

Speakers and volunteers give their time for free. Instead of paying a regular fee, participants can show appreciation for the effort by donating to pre-selected organizations dedicated to climate-related causes. As a signatory of the UN Global Compact, iPoint strives to align our corporate strategy and culture with and take actions that advance the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to accelerate the transition to a sustainable future. With our donation to the charity Alliance for Climate Education – whose mission is to educate young people on the science of climate change and empower them to take action – we are therefore not only able to back this great climate cause, but also advance SDG #4 (Quality education) and SDG #13 (Climate action). We look forward to SustainableUX: design vs. climate change and are excited to support designers in making a practical difference against climate change in their day-jobs!
