European Research Seminar 2018 in Rotterdam

On May 17 and 18, 2018, the European Research Seminar will take place in Rotterdam. The annual meeting is connected to the European Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals and brings together both researchers and practitioners who have an interest in supply chain management.

We’re excited to announce that iPoint’s founder and CEO Joerg Walden has been invited to participate in the session “Current challenges of managing social sustainability in multi-tier chains: In search of new forms of supply chain governance” on May 17. Focusing on the discussion topic “The role of technology and innovation in detecting social issues / human rights violations”, Joerg will address questions related to iPoint’s project “SustainBlock”. Funded by the European Partnership for Responsible Minerals (EPRM), the project aims at creating a Blockchain-based system for tracing certain raw materials from conflict-affected and high-risk areas across the entire supply chain to improve miners’ working and living conditions.
