Global Compact Network Germany Participants' Conference

On 21 March, the participants' conference of the Global Compact Network Germany will take place at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für lnternationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Berlin. The focus will be on "Society in Transition – Responsibility and the Role of Business".

Key questions of the conference will include

  • What relevance do current social changes have for companies?

  • Does the traditional CSR approach fall short of what is needed to successfully master the coming challenges?

  • Which economic approaches exist, and which are still necessary to ensure social cohesion and an ecological balance?

In practical workshops, the participants can actively develop options for action for companies with regard to these questions or engage with the topics "Human Rights Complaints Mechanisms" and "Climate Strategy 2.0".

iPoint will again be represented by Dr. Katie Böhme, Head of Corporate Communications & Sustainability, who has been participating in these events since we signed the Global Compact in 2017.

We are particularly proud that Gunther Walden, CEO of iPoints Innovations-Startup Circular Tree, will present our SustainBlock project as part of the marketplace in the afternoon under the heading "Tracking down human rights violations with Blockchain".

The UN Global Compact is the world's largest initiative for responsible corporate governance. The vision of the UN Global Compact is an inclusive and sustainable world economy based on its 10 universal principles. The German Global Compact Network supports companies and organizations in aligning their strategies and activities with sustainability goals and the vision of the UN Global Compact.

The conference will be held in German. The programme can be found here.
