iPoint and IHS enter into Conflict Minerals Compliance Portal and Content Services Agreement

IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS) and iPoint-systems gmbh announced today that they have entered into an agreement that allows IHS to resell the iPoint Conflict Minerals Platform (iPCMP).

The agreement brings together the Environmental Compliance solutions of IHS, the leading global source of critical information and insight, and iPoint, the top Conflict Minerals compliance portal and reporting tools provider.

“The partnership between IHS and iPoint will allow both organizations to benefit from the best-in-class capabilities of the other,” said Bob Braasch, senior director, IHS Technology. “Combining IHS compliance data and environmental compliance data gathering expertise with the iPoint solutions to collect, manage, aggregate and report on conflict minerals information provides customers with an unparalleled means of meeting their conflict minerals reporting requirements.”

iPoint’s iPCMP is designed from the ground up to streamline the reporting process through powerful tools for tracking and managing country-of-origin inquiries. At the same time, the application offers web 2.0 ease of use. With a two-tiered licensing model, iPCMP appeals to large companies as well as smaller suppliers, a crucial factor for attracting the majority of a firm’s suppliers to participate in the reporting initiative. Through an easy-to-use interface, IHS and iPoint customers will be able to quickly deploy and leverage the web-based solution, significantly increasing their efficiency, as compared to manual data entry, validation and due-diligence reporting.

IHS has played a leading role for years in bringing awareness to the intricate and sensitive subject of conflict minerals. Today it offers the industry’s largest, highest-quality and most-innovative database and tools for more than 400 million electronic, electromechanical and fastener components used in commercial and military applications.

The company’s readily accessible off-the-shelf reference database contains millions of components with the latest conflict minerals information about tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold used in these products. IHS content services also help source data from suppliers to close large supply chain gaps and address the nuances of company-specific needs.
