iPoint becomes WBCSD member

We are proud to announce that iPoint has joined the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) as an innovation member. The WBCSD is an organization of forward-thinking companies that galvanizes the global business community to create a sustainable future for business, society, and the environment. By invitation of the CEO of WBCSD and approved by the Executive Committee, iPoint joined the WBCSD project Value Chain Carbon Transparency Pathfinder – an ambitious initiative dedicated to enabling widescale exchange of primary, carbon emissions data.

As a member of WBCSD as well as UN Global Compact, iPoint is strongly committed to achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. With iPoint’s carbon footprint solution iPoint Product Sustainability in particular, we enable companies to determine and reduce the climate impact of their products. With our participation in the Carbon Transparency Pathfinder initiative, we want to contribute our expertise in building a technical infrastructure that will enable all businesses to advance the transparent and safe exchange of carbon emissions data.

“Driven by the question how today’s technology can contribute to securing a sustainable world for future generations, I am convinced that sustainability does not work without transparency – the new paradigm for conducting responsible business,” states Joerg Walden, CEO and founder of iPoint-systems. “Therefore, I am thrilled that iPoint has been invited to join the WBCSD’s Value Chain Carbon Transparency Pathfinder initiative as an innovation member to enable the widespread exchange of carbon emissions data and thus contribute to decarbonizing industry through data transparency.”

Earlier this year, iPoint’s innovation hub CircularTree (Member of iPoint Group) also joined the Carbon Transparency Pathfinder initiative based on its successful completion of the CarbonBlock pilot project. Learn more here.

About the Carbon Transparency Pathfinder

Businesses from all industries are currently under pressure to measure, account for, and disclose emissions across product value chains to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and reach net zero emissions before 2050. Launched in March 2021, the Carbon Transparency Pathfinder presents a cross-value chain initiative to define and accelerate credible, verified primary emission data exchange. WBCSD invites businesses, standard-setting bodies, technology experts, and decarbonization initiatives with a commitment to sustainable development to join the Carbon Transparency Pathfinder and its growing network working to develop a unique, ambitious model to decarbonize industry through data transparency.
