iPoint is Partner of Consumer Information Programme for Sustainable Consumption and Production

iPoint recently became a partner of the Consumer Information Programme for Sustainable Consumption and Production (CI-SCP) of the 10 Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production of the UN One Planet network. As such, we have agreed to help promote the programme and progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 12 (Ensure Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns) and are actively involved in the implementation of the CI-SCP.

The Consumer Information Programme for Sustainable Consumption and Production supports the provision of quality information on goods and services by tools and systems that should guide consumers to make more sustainable choices about goods and services – both in their use, as well as in the end of life phase. This includes labels on products, advertising, marketing, and public and third sector awareness-raising campaigns as well as communications between peers via social media or family and friend networks.

The One Planet Network Programme on Sustainable Consumer Information (CI-SCP), which was founded cause of the lack of transparency, incomplete or unreliable information, and the proliferation of labels and standards which complicate the comparison of information for consumers, is one of six 10-Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production (10YFP). Adopted in 2012 at the World Summit on Sustainable Development, the 10YFP is a worldwide commitment aimed at accelerating the shift towards sustainable consumption and production in both developed and developing countries.

The aim of the Consumer Information Programme for Sustainable Consumption and Production is to engage all stakeholders in the supply chain, to encourage collective action, including businesses, retailers, governments, and consumers. iPoint is very excited to be a partner of CI-SCP and looks forward to promoting the programme and progress towards SDG 12. Our business solutions align perfectly with this SDG as well as SDG 8, so it was a logical step for us to join this excellent programme.
