Recently, iPoint, represented by our CEO Joerg Walden, became part of the initiative #ManagersForFuture. Launched by the European social partner CEC European Managers and inspired by the Fridays For Future movement, the initiative aims to transform management for the benefit of people and the planet.
To the public and private sector managers behind #ManagersForFuture movement, becoming better at creating sustainable impacts for our environment, society, and a lasting economic system starts at the workplace. However, according to CEC President Ludger Ramme, “today’s business education, company structures and management practices are […] not fit for purpose by delivering insufficiently sustainable impacts. A whole new set of leadership skills is required for a world characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA).” The initiative raises awareness of the new management requirements and leadership skills, and collects best practices.
iPoint joined this community of international management pioneers because we share the conviction that implementing the Paris Agreement and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is our shared responsibility. As a proud signatory of UN Global Compact, iPoint is already committed to supporting the 17 SDGs. In addition, we agree that the climate crisis is one of several sustainability challenges that need to be addressed by the private and public sector. Moreover, iPoint also supports the movement’s demand that we have to transition urgently to another economic model, respecting planetary boundaries and delivering on societal needs. iPoint is excited to be part of this movement and drive sustainable change in the world of management by leading the necessary ecological and societal transition by example.
