The UN Global Compact is the world's largest and most important initiative for sustainable and responsible corporate governance. Based on ten universal principles and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), it pursues the vision of an inclusive and sustainable global economy. iPoint is one of the more than 13,000 corporate signatories worldwide and a member of the German Global Compact Network (DGCN). The German Global Compact Network, with more than 730 participants from business, civil society, and politics, provides information on corporate responsibility issues and supports companies in strategically anchoring sustainability and contributing to the implementation of the SDGs on the basis of 10 universal principles, exchanging ideas, and working together on practical solutions.
We are excited to announce that Dr. Katie Boehme, Director People & Communications at iPoint, has been re-elected to the DGCN Steering Committee as business representative for the period 2021-2023. For the last two years, she was already part of the steering committee. Now she will continue to work to bring in the perspective, special concerns, and challenges of SMEs and to further advance the exciting spectrum of DGCN topics around that of digitalization and its connection with sustainability, Circular Economy, and the Global Goals. The new steering committee, which also includes business representatives from BASF, SAP, Evonik Industries, Daimler, and Haas & Co. Magnettechnik, is elected every two years by the participants and determines the strategic and content-related direction of the DGCN. Its composition – made up of four representatives of the participating companies (plus two alternates), two representatives of the participating civil society organisations, and two emissaries of the participating federal ministries – reflects the self-conception of the network: a business-driven multistakeholder network in which the participants discuss at eye level strategies and activities to achieve the sustainability goals.
iPoint places sustainability at the forefront of everything that we do. As signatory of the UN Global Compact we have committed to aligning our corporate strategy, day-to-day operations, and organizational culture with the ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. By doing so, we aim to underline our commitment both as a company and a corporate citizen to accelerate the transition towards a sustainable future.
