The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest and most important initiative for responsible corporate leadership. Based on ten universal principles and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), it pursues the vision of an inclusive and sustainable world economy. iPoint is one of the 13,000 signatories worldwide and a member of the German Global Compact Network (DGCN). The DGCN brings together 500 German companies and organizations from civil society as well as the academic and public sector to learn about corporate responsibility issues, exchange ideas and work together on practical solutions.
We are excited to announce that Dr. Katie Boehme, Head of Corporate Communications & Sustainability at iPoint, has been elected to the DGCN Steering Committee as business representative for the period 2019-2021. In this role, she looks forward to representing the perspective, specific concerns, and challenges of SMEs and to expanding the exciting range of DGCN topics regarding digitalization and its link to sustainability, circular economy and the Global Goals. The Steering Committee, which currently also includes representatives from BASF, Daimler, Evonik Industries, Robert Bosch, SAP, WWF Germany, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the German Foreign Office, as well as Transparency International Germany, determines the strategic and thematic orientation of the DGCN. It is elected every two years by the participants of the DGCN. The composition of the Steering Committee – with representatives from business, politics, and civil society – reflects the self-conception of the network, which is a company-driven, multi-stakeholder network, in which the participants discuss at eye level strategies and activities to achieve the sustainability goals.
iPoint places sustainability at the forefront of everything that we do. As signatory of the UN Global Compact we have committed to aligning our corporate strategy, day-to-day operations, and organizational culture with the ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. By doing so, we aim to underline our commitment both as a company and a corporate citizen to accelerate the transition towards a sustainable future.
