iPoint and startup CircularTree (Member of iPoint Group), together with upstream due diligence expert BetterChain, are excited to announce that they will present a live demo of SustainBlock at this year’s OECD Forum on Responsible Mineral Supply Chains from April 23-25, 2019, in Paris.
SustainBlock is a Blockchain-assisted mineral supply chain due diligence solution. It tracks the provenance of minerals in the supply chain from its origin in the mine and in turn provides downstream companies with access to information on the provenance and due diligence information of minerals contained in their products. SustainBlock is the Blockchain-based solution connected to the iPoint SustainHub, a compliance and sustainability data exchange platform currently used by 50.000 organizations, predominantly downstream supply chain participants. Designed as an open system, SustainBlock can also integrate other upstream due diligence systems. It enables compliance with global Responsible Minerals regulations as well as global Anti-slavery and Anti-human trafficking regulations. “SustainBlock can also be customized to support companies with other compliance- and sustainability-related information,” Gunther Walden, CEO of CircularTree, announces. “We look forward to presenting SustainBlock at the OECD Forum,” adds SustainBlock project manager Sebastian Galindo. “This annual conference has become the main must-be event for all those involved in responsible mineral supply chains, and I'm very excited that we can offer the first live demo of SustainBlock at this prestigious conference.”
SustainBlock is supported by the European Partnership for Responsible Minerals (EPRM), a multi-stakeholder partnership established with the goal to create better social and economic conditions for mine workers and local mining communities, by increasing the number of mines that adopt responsible mining practices in Conflict and High-Risk Areas (CAHRAs). Its members include Apple, Fairphone, Intel, Philips, Samsung, and the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, among others.
