iPoint is excited to announce that we have officially joined the Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative (CFSI) as a Vendor Member.
Founded in 2008 by members of the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI), the Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative has grown into one of the most utilized and respected resources for companies from a range of industries addressing conflict minerals issues in their supply chains.
"We are excited to welcome service providers into the CFSI membership base and look forward to working with iPoint to advance broad-based, multi-industry action to support responsible sourcing practices across supply chains", says Leah Butler, CFSI Program Director.
CFSI’s flagship Conflict-Free Smelter Program offers companies and their suppliers an independent, third-party audit that determines which smelters and refiners can be validated as “conflict-free,” in line with current global standards. The CFSI has also developed the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT), a free, standardized reporting template that facilitates the transfer of information through the supply chain regarding mineral country of origin and smelters and refiners being utilized. The CMRT also facilitates the identification of new smelters and refiners to potentially undergo an audit via the CFSI’s Conflict-Free Smelter Program.
"iPoint is very excited to have formally joined CFSI, and we're proud to be part of this important initiative" states Joerg Walden, CEO of iPoint. "We firmly believe in the mission of CFSI and look forward to contributing to its success."
Based on the CFSI’s CMRT, the iPoint Conflict Minerals Platform (iPCMP) allows for cascade and roll-up of the collected data from your supply chain. Even if a supplier chooses not to join iPCMP, you can easily import their Excel/CMRT-based CFSI-compliant reports into the application to use them in your roll-ups. Furthermore, all languages that are available within the CMRT can be displayed in the iPCMP.
