The expected launch of IMDS 15.0 at the beginning of July marks a turning point for the automotive industry, as PCF reporting will become a key part of material compliance. In a compact webinar on June 5th, we explained what will change with IMDS 15, how the automotive industry can already perform PCF calculations with our solutions and what new features we will be releasing later in the year.

What’s New with IMDS 15?
The central innovation in IMDS 15.0 is the structured integration of PCF data for every component recorded in the IMDS. Both the product carbon footprint and the transport carbon footprint are included. `Initially, PCF recording is optional,’ explained Veronika Hüttinger, Senior Solution Consultant at iPoint. ‘However, it is already foreseeable that customers and OEMs will actively demand the provision of PCF data.’ Its collection is becoming an implicit market access criterion. Other changes in IMDS 15.0 concern the Chemistry Manager and Dynamic SVHCs.
iPoint is ready for IMDS 15!
With iPoint Product Sustainability, companies in the automotive industry are already calculating PCF data in compliance with IMDS15 without any additional integration effort. The software delivers fast, precise and compliant results and is also ideal for people without LCA expertise. ‘We know that different companies along the supply chain have very different requirements and levels of experience when it comes to PCF calculations,’ explained Product Manager Sustainability Andreas Schiffleitner. ‘We therefore offer various packages that are closely aligned with the respective requirements of our customers.’
The new iPoint Compliance 17 will also be available in time for IMDS 15.0 and will be fully compatible with the new release: iPCA 17 will support the collection and publication of PCF data and the new Chemistry Manager will make monitoring and analysing chemical substances even easier.
The iPoint solutions are already prepared for the new IMDS version so that all customers can continue working without interruption or loss of productivity. Why are we so sure of this? Because we have already completed extensive testing!
What‘s next? iPoint-Roadmap 2025
