Product Compliance Software
The number of product regulations increases exponentially over time, posing a major challenge, especially for companies with complex products and supply chains. The manual tracking of individual processed materials from different suppliers presents an impossible or extremely time-consuming and costly task.
Supply Chain Transparency
iPoint Compliance enables companies to validate and verify compliance information provided by their suppliers as well as visualize the supply chain's compliance status.
Product Declaration down to Substance Level
Providing a Product Material Declaration (PMD) or even a Full Material Declaration (FMD) reduces further efforts on both ends when regulations are changing because no further certificates need to get requested or even provided every time.
Efficient Data Management
iPoint Compliance enables companies to manage material information, as well as tasks related to required reports, to track these reports via due dates, and to identify substitution needs and timelines.
Environmental Impact Improvement
iPoint Compliance not only enables companies to ensure that compliant products are placed on the market, but it also lets them assess the social and environmental impacts of their suppliers in order to improve them.

What is Product and Material Compliance?
Product or material compliance involves adherence to environmentally relevant laws and regulations as well as international law that restrict or even prohibit the use of various substances and/or materials in products.
Goals of product compliance regulations
Product compliance regulations are intended to protect people and the environment from harmful substances and to prevent the uncontrolled extraction of resources (e.g. protected wood species).
Examples of environmentally relevant material compliance regulations
In the area of material compliance, there are numerous sets of regulations, in the form of laws, standards and directives.
Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH):
- The REACH Directive No. 1907/2006 is an EU chemicals regulation that came into force on June 1, 2007.
Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS):
- The EU Directive 2011/65/EU serves to restrict the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
End of Life Vehicles Directive (ELV):
- EU Directive 2000/53/EC regulates the recycling of motor vehicles within the European Union (EU).
Collect the Relevant Data for Compliant Products
Ensure product compliance by using high-quality data. The first step in mastering regulations is collecting the relevant data on your products.
Why collect data?
Detailed product and material information needs to be collected for compliance purposes. This information must be summarized and kept up to date since data quality and completeness are critical. Such aggregated data allows companies to respond quickly to regulatory changes and helps assess the impact of changes before they are implemented.
What are the challenges?
Constant changes in products, supplier parts, supply chain and regulations make data collection particularly challenging for companies. Ever-changing regulations require specialized expertise and time-consuming monitoring to keep track and create transparency. Additionally, regulations need to be understood precisely in order to identify the data to be collected.
How to overcome these challenges?
To overcome these challenges, automatization, transparency, and traceability are becoming key requirements. The automation of data collection and aggregation to product level is critical in order to keep up with constant changes. Data mapping and automated enrichment enables continuous reuse and extension of data for multiple different purposes. E.g., compliance data can be a good basis for calculating a carbon footprint or further lifecycle assessments of a product.
