iPoint already has a long-standing tradition of using the holiday season as an opportunity to provide financial support to non-profit and charitable organizations. As in the previous years, iPoint has once again dispensed with Christmas gifts or cards for customers and partners, instead sponsoring different organizations and projects. 2019, iPoint has made donations to the “Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder Tübingen e.V.” (sponsoring association supporting cancer-striken children Tuebingen), to JAM Deutschland e.V., to JAM Deutschland e.V., to Paluna – Specialized outpatient palliative care for children and adolescents, and to Sea Shepherd. Many thanks to our employees for these suggestions!
Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder Tübingen e.V.
The “Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder Tübingen e. V.” takes care of children with cancer, their parents, siblings, and grandparents. The direct support of families, further psychosocial help and the implementation of new ideas are core aspects of their work. They also support Tuebingen University’s Children’s Clinic as well as medical research. With our donation iPoint can not only support the realization of numerous projects, research, and financing the parents’ and family house, but also Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing). On December 11, 2019, Ulrike Walden - together with the other donator, the Tombola Grafenberg - symbolically handed over the donation to the Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder Tübingen.
JAM Deutschland is a Christian-humanitarian development organization based in Stuttgart in Southern Germany. The organization aims to support Africa's development into an economically healthy, independent region. JAM's work focuses on helping children and their families to help themselves through nutritional feeding at schools, the building of water wells, agricultural development, and the rebuilding and reconstruction of existing nurseries. JAM Deutschland was founded in 2002 and is part of the organization JAM International, which was established in 1984. The African-founded Christian international humanitarian relief and development organisation has its headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa. The tireless commitment of Rudolf Rampf, an entrepreneur based in the town of Grafenberg near the iPoint headquarters, to providing school meals and clean water in Angola has prompted iPoint to make this donation, which supports projects in this South African state. With this donation we also support the implementation of three Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 6 (Clean Water & Sanitation), and SDG 8 (Decent Work & Economic Growth).
PALUNA – Specialized Outpatient Palliative Care for Children and Adolescents
PALUNA is an interdisciplinary team of doctors who work hand in hand to support families with children and adolescents suffering from neuropaediatric and degenerative diseases, advanced cancer, progressive organ diseases of the intestine, heart, liver, lungs, and kidney, or congenital chromosomal changes. Among other things, PALUNA’s specialized outpatient palliative care offers house visits, telephone consultation, and other life-enhancing services like symptom relief for patients. With our donation we support this important palliative assistance for young patients while also supporting the implementation of SDG 3 (Good Health and Wellbeing).
Sea Shepherd is a non-profit, marine conservation organization that was founded in 1977 by Captain Paul Watson in Vancouver, Canada. Its mission is to protect and conserve all marine wildlife by engaging in various demonstrations, campaigns, and tactical operations at sea and elsewhere, including conventional protests and direct actions to protect marine wildlife. Incorporated in Oregon in 1981 as the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, today the movement has independent entities in over 20 countries working together on direct-action campaigns around the world. As about two third of the Earth's surface is water-covered, and the oceans hold about 96.5 percent of all Earth's water, we decided to support Sea Shepherd’s Operation CLEAN WAVES which tackles Ocean Pollution, Reef Health, and Clean Water issues in isolated Island Nations. With this donation we are also able to support SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 14 (Life Below Water).
