As of April 2025, the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) has expanded its reporting scope under the Extended Minerals Reporting Template (EMRT). In addition to cobalt and mica, four more minerals—copper, natural graphite, lithium, and nickel—are now included in the list of minerals subject to conflict minerals reporting requirements.
In response to this update, the International Material Data System (IMDS) has revised its Extended Minerals substance group to include these newly designated minerals. To support greater transparency and improve reporting accuracy, separate substance groups for copper, lithium, and nickel have also been introduced within IMDS.
