The Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) has officially launched the Pilot Reporting Template (PRT) 1.0, a new tool designed to help companies disclose information on minerals not covered by the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) or the Extended Minerals Reporting Template (EMRT).
The Pilot Reporting Template (PRT) aims to streamline the reporting process for additional critical minerals, such as copper, nickel, lithium, and aluminum. Unlike the CMRT and EMRT, which cover 3TG and cobalt/mica respectively, the PRT allows users to select from up to ten minerals to report on. This tool enhances supply chain transparency and helps companies comply with evolving regulations for high-risk minerals.
While the PRT is not designed to fully align with the IPC-1755 standard, it serves as a key step in enabling companies to better manage their due diligence processes. Companies are encouraged to provide PRTs to customers and post them on their websites to demonstrate compliance and promote responsible sourcing practices.
