Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT)
The Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) is a standardized, free reporting tool developed by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI). It is designed to help companies collect and share information about the use of conflict minerals in their supply chains. The template facilitates reporting on the country of origin of minerals and the smelters and refiners used, supporting compliance with regulatory frameworks such as the U.S. Dodd-Frank Act (Section 1502) and the EU Conflict Minerals Regulation.
Purpose and Benefits of CMRT
- Regulatory Compliance – Assists companies in meeting legal and customer requirements for conflict minerals reporting.
- Supply Chain Transparency – Helps identify and trace tin (Sn), tantalum (Ta), tungsten (W), and gold (Au) (also known as 3TG minerals) through the supply chain.
- Smelter Identification – Facilitates the identification of smelters and refiners that may require assessment through the Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP).
- Standardized Reporting – Provides a consistent format for suppliers and manufacturers to share data efficiently.
