The Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) has released version 6.5 of the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT), marking the 29th update of this essential tool for companies reporting on conflict minerals or 3TG (tin, tungsten, tantalum, and gold) in their supply chains. CMRT 6.5 replaces version CMRT 6.4 from April 2024 and continues to align with the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals.
What’s New in CMRT 6.5?
The primary update in CMRT 6.5 is the revision of the Smelter Reference List and Standard Smelter List to reflect the latest industry data provided by RMI. This ensures that companies have access to the most current information when conducting their Reasonable Country of Origin Inquiry (RCOI) and due diligence activities.
Why the Update Matters
Using the most recent version of the CMRT helps companies maintain compliance with U.S. SEC conflict minerals reporting requirements, the EU Conflict Minerals Regulation, and customer-driven responsible sourcing initiatives. Updated smelter lists improve data accuracy, supply chain transparency, and audit readiness.
