EMRT 2.0 Released: New Minerals, EU Battery Regulation Support & More

The Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) has officially released EMRT 2.0 – the Extended Minerals Reporting Template, Version 2.0. This update delivers significant enhancements for companies in the product compliance, sustainability, electronics, and automotive sectors.

Major Changes in EMRT 2.0

  • Expanded Mineral Scope
The template now covers Copper, Natural Graphite, Lithium, and Nickel in addition to the existing Cobalt and Mica. This expansion aligns with the EU Battery Regulation and addresses the needs of industries with complex global supply chains.

  • New “Mine List” Tab:
A dedicated, optional tab for mine-level sourcing information has been introduced. This feature significantly improves supply chain transparency and traceability from extraction to product.
