Main Changes in CMRT 6.6
CMRT 6.6 is the latest version of RMI’s standardized template for conflict minerals reporting. The update was published on April 17, 2026, together with the latest versions of the Extended Minerals Reporting Template: EMRT 2.11 and the Additional Minerals Reporting Template: AMRT 1.31.
- One of the key changes in CMRT 6.6 is the addition of new fields in the Product List for “Requester Product Number” and “Requester Product Name”. These fields can help companies better align supplier declarations with customer-specific product references, internal part numbers or bill-of-materials data.
- In addition, CMRT 6.6 includes updated ISO short names for countries, states and provinces as well as updates to the Smelter Reference List and the Standard Smelter List. These changes are designed to improve data consistency and support more accurate due diligence and reporting processes.
Impact for Companies: How Does CMRT 6.6 Affect Manufacturers and Suppliers
Manufacturers, suppliers and importers should review their current conflict minerals reporting processes and switch supplier requests to CMRT 6.6 where applicable. This is particularly relevant for companies that provide 3TG information for customer requirements, SEC conflict minerals reporting, EU conflict minerals compliance or responsible sourcing programs.
The new product-related fields may reduce clarification loops between customers and suppliers by improving the traceability of CMRT responses to specific products or part numbers. Compliance teams should also check whether their supplier portals, upload processes and validation rules are already aligned with the new version.
- An important practical note: The CMRT Smelter Lookup List may differ from the current RMI smelter lists because it is fixed at release. RMI therefore recommends checking the latest Standard Smelter List and using “Smelter not listed” for manual entries where needed.
- Tip: RMI also provides a CMRT Completion Guide for CMRT v. 6.6. The guide helps users complete the template correctly and can be especially useful for questions related to declarations, product lists, smelter information and validation.
