The International Association for Trusted Blockchain Applications was founded in 2019 with the backing and commitment of iPoint and more than 100 other organizations representing the full distributed ledger technology (DLT) ecosystem. The association aims to promote the use of blockchain technology by developing a predictable, transparent, and trust-based global framework. It offers developers and users of DLT a global forum to interact with regulators and policy makers and bring blockchain technology to the next stage.
The cornerstone of INATBA was set in late 2018, when multiple participants of the EU Blockchain Roundtable “Bringing industries together for Europe to lead in blockchain technologies”, including iPoint, agreed to work together with governments and the European Commission to support the development of blockchain technology. „Since we view Blockchain as an important enabler of the Circular Economy and the Sustainable Development Goals, iPoint is very excited to be a founding member of INATBA,“ Joerg Walden, who is also co-founder of Blockchain startup CircularTree, states. “Blockchain has the potential to make products, processes, and services more trusted, transparent, and traceable and thereby stimulate new business models which can contribute to sustainable economic growth.”
In July 2019, Joerg Walden was elected co-chair of the INATBA working group “Social Impact & Sustainability” which aims to leverage Blockchain and DLT to achieve positive socio-economic impact and advance societal goals such as the SDGs.
