International Congress on Sustainability Science & Engineering

Our colleague Martina Prox is a speaker at the ICOSSE '23

From 19 to 21 September, the International Congress on Sustainability Science & Engineering (ICOSSE) will take place in Houston, Texas. This congress serves as an international platform for innovations in sustainability science and engineering to discuss trends towards greater sustainability.

This year, the focus will be on the following four topics:

  • Current progress in the field of environmentally friendly technologies for the production of food and food supplements. Particular focus is given to measures to reduce CO2 emissions and the consumption of water and energy.
  • Recent developments in energy issues, including advanced renewable energy sources, novel approaches to the transition to sustainable energy, clean energy solutions, energy data analysis, and energy services.
  • Issues related to water, such as water quality, water treatment technologies, water policies, and measures to protect water resources.
  • Sustainable materials with lower carbon footprint, reduced water demand, and/or reusability. This will look at both novel materials and the reuse of existing materials, taking into account relevant policy requirements.

We are particularly excited that our colleague and LCA expert Martina Prox will be there to deliver a keynote entitled "From setting Net-Zero targets to implementation - a global perspective".  She aims to shed light on the path from setting ambitious net-zero targets to implementing them in practice, offering actionable strategies and inspiring perspectives.
