RMI Releases CMRT 6.4

The Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) has launched version 6.4 of the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT), marking the 28th release of this essential tool for companies reporting conflict minerals. CMRT 6.4 follows the previous version, 6.31, released in May 2023, and comes with several important updates aimed at improving the accuracy and reliability of supply chain data.

The key changes in CMRT 6.4 include bug fixes and updates to the ‘Smelter Lists’ tabs. Additionally, the Smelter Reference List has been revised to reflect the latest information. Companies using the template for their SEC filings can now gather the most up-to-date data for their reasonable country of origin inquiry (RCOI) efforts, ensuring compliance with due diligence requirements.

As with previous updates, companies are encouraged to use the latest version of CMRT to ensure the accuracy of their conflict minerals reporting. By adopting CMRT 6.4, businesses demonstrate their commitment to transparency and responsible sourcing practices. The next release of CMRT is expected in Spring 2025.
